About myself

I am a consultant psychiatrist and the head of the Outpatient Clinic for Disorders of Social Interaction at the  LVR-Klinikum Düsseldorf as well as the head of the Independent Max Planck Research Group for Social Neuroscience at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry. If you would like to make a clinical appointment, please contact the Ambulanz Haus 21 at the LVR-Klinikum Düsseldorf.

I am also a lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (Munich, Germany), a faculty member of the International Max Planck Research School for Translational Psychiatry (IMPRS-TP) and associate faculty member at the Graduate School of Systemic Neuroscience (GSN; both: Munich, Germany).

Clinically as well as scientifically, my approach is driven by the idea that we can construe psychiatric disorders as disorders of social interaction and that we should consequently investigate the social constituents, the social manifestations and consequences of psychiatric disorders.
